Duologue v/s lemlist

lemlist is built to reach new leads at volume. Duologue is built to know each account in depth, and keep up as its priorities change, so reps can carry complex deals through to close. Here is how to tell which job your team is hiring for.

What is the difference between Duologue and lemlist?

The difference is the unit of work. lemlist is organized around the campaign. Duologue is organized around the account.

A lemlist campaign is a sequence of steps that runs across a list of leads. It can mix email, LinkedIn, calls, WhatsApp and SMS, and it branches on what each lead does.3

A Duologue account is a running record of one company. It holds research on the account and its people, a timeline of what changed there, newest first, and every conversation across email and LinkedIn. It keeps building for as long as the deal runs.

An illustration of each product’s working model, not a screenshot of either. On the left, one lemlist-style sequence runs across many leads on a schedule. On the right, five recent facts about one account build a Duologue brief on what changed, what it means for the deal and what to do next.

That one choice shapes everything else. A campaign tool gets more useful as your list grows. An account tool gets more useful the longer you work each account.

What lemlist is built for

lemlist describes itself as “The AI Outbound Platform for Relevant Outreach at Every Scale.”1 It is built for finding leads and reaching them across several channels, from one tool.

lemlist was founded in 2018 and is part of lempire. It says more than 20,000 sales teams use it.1,8 It names founders, small and mid-size sales teams, growth teams and agencies as its audience.8

How sending works in lemlist

Sequence steps send automatically by default. You can mark email and LinkedIn steps as manual, which turns each one into a task you review before sending. This has to be set before the campaign launches. A step changed afterwards still sends automatically.5

lemlist pricing

The Email plan costs $69 a month, or $55 billed annually, and includes 50,000 emails a month. The Multichannel plan costs $109 per user a month, or $87 billed annually. Enterprise pricing is custom. There is a 14-day trial of Multichannel with no card required, and credits for enrichment and signals are sold separately.2

What Duologue is built for

Duologue is an account-native inbox for sales teams. Its core is research: a sourced, current picture of each account and the people in it, kept up to date for as long as a deal takes.

That depth matters more as selling gets harder. In our view, AI has raised the bar for buyers. They want use cases and value up front. They ask why they should buy rather than build it in-house, and why they should buy from you. Deals take more conversations, with more people, over more months, and priorities at the account shift along the way.

Duologue is built to keep up with that. It tracks what changes at each account, connects each change to the deal, and keeps every conversation on one thread.

Two of Duologue’s building blocks, shown with a sample account. The timeline keeps the research current; asking Duologue turns it into what to raise next.

Built to keep up with each account

  • Activity timeline. Partnerships, pricing moves, launches, hires and funding, each with its date and source, newest first.
  • What it means for the deal. Every entry comes with a line on why it matters. Ask what changed since your last touch, and Duologue answers with the updates, the selling angles and the business problems worth raising.
  • Every fact sourced. Each fact points back to where it came from and the date it was read. Stale facts are flagged before you use them.
  • One thread for the whole cycle. Email, LinkedIn messages, connection requests and InMails live on the same account thread, with call notes pulled in from your dialer.
  • Continuity. When a rep leaves, the account thread and its research stay for the next rep.
  • Your voice, when it is time to write. Duologue learns from your sent mail how you write to a CEO, a VP or a manager, and drafts to match. A rep reads every message before it sends.

What that means in practiceDuologue is built for deals that take many conversations over months: several stakeholders, shifting priorities, and a buyer who needs a clear case before they sign. It is not designed to send to thousands of new leads a day.

Should you choose Duologue or lemlist?

Choose by the job that is costing you deals. If reps cannot reach enough of the market, that is a lemlist job. If reps reach the right accounts but deals stall as they get complex, that is a Duologue job.
